Just a quick update for everyone. Dr. Densmore came by this morning and Amy has been cleared to move over to the Red Roof Inn. They are going to give her some more blood this morning and then this afternoon she will finally be leaving the hospital.

  1. It's good to hear that Amy will be able to leave the hospital soon! I can't imagine how confining that must feel.

Also, let me know if there is anything I can do for you guys when you're down at Duke. I'm just down Tobacco Road from there. I'd love to see you guys and help out in any way!

  2. Amy & Michael,
Hurray! I'm glad things are looking up!
We prayed for you yesterday at Low Moor Church and will continue to do so!
Here's a word from God. I hope it helps!
It's from Isaiah again (what a great guy!): "do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." (Is. 41:10)

  3. Good morning sweetie,
I'm at work and this is the first time I've had a chance to catch up, except at church. So glad you are feeling at least decient. I talked to Phyllis this morning about sending you and Kathy some books. I have some really good, short Christian novels that uplift me and are easy reads. I will get some together and send them to you guys. As you well know, you are in thoughts and prayers all over the nation. You are so special, and we all love you!

  5. Amy that's wonderful news! I am so happy you finally get to leave the hospital, I'm sure you are ready for some fresh air. I also want to say thanks to Michael and your dad for keeping everyone up to date on your progress through this blog. I hope you enjoy some time out of the hospital but be sure to be very careful and infection free! I like the antibacterial hand sanitizer from bath & body works, they come in little travel sizes and I use them at work all the time. They are only $1.50 each and they won't dry your hands out. I put that stuff on the buggy at WalMart and door knobs and everything else, its wonderful. Keep your spirits up and please let me know if I can do anything to help!

  8. GOD IS GOOD!! So glad to hear that you will be able to leave the hospital now. Our prayer now, is that you will stay free of any bugs going around and, that your blood count will start going back up. Stay strong and we know you will beat this.

Thanks Michael and Greg for the updates. It's so good to be able to keep up with Amy's progress, and we're glad that she is making progress. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Our love to you all -

  10. Passing on a comment from Ed Gibson:

Amy and Michael: Real cold today, but I saw my first Robin over the weekend! I heard a terrific sermon Sunday - The theme was God's grace - It was as if u were there with me. In essence, God is in control and his love is always with us. He does not promise us a rose garden always, but does promise us his presence in good or tough times. Rest assured, he is there with you! I have chosen not to visit yet - but, gosh, I'm right there! - with prayers and smiles and giggles as we have shared before. Amy, I would like to see u in one of those Mary Beth wigs - WOW! Maybe u could even strut a little. Michael, Miami came within a cat's whisker of knocking off the Tarholes on Sunday - Hang in there, big guy, 'am thinking about u big - time. EWG

  11. Great news, Amy! I know the sunshine and fresh air will feel so good. My sister and brother-in-law live within 45 minutes of Duke. They would love to help out in any way they could. Please let me know and I will send you their address and phone number via email. Thanks for keeping this blog up, Greg and Michael. Remember, nurses are angels in disguise. Keep positive thoughts and remember God is good.
