Hello all.  Just wanted to give everyone an update on the days happenings and what will be going on in the future.  Amy was admitted to the UVA hospital this afternoon to start this process. Starting tomorrow she will begin seven days of chemotherapy treatments. The purpose of this initial treatment is to basically kill off all the bad blood cells in her body. After the seven days of treatment she will remain in the hospital for a few weeks, while her blood counts are given the chance to rise to a normal level.  I know some people have asked about the address at the hospital so here it is:

    Michael, I'm sure Amy is getting the best treatment possible!! Hope that everything goes well during this important initial process. Glad that you setup this blog to keep us updated. There are a lot of us that are concerned about how you guys are getting along.

    Hi Cousin! I know I just left from visiting you but I wanted to get on here and let you know that I am so proud of you for being so positive and brave.     Amy, I know you don't know me, but I met your mother in the restroom today at Duke. We are from the Durham area (Hillsborough), but have lived in Durham until 2 years ago. I am in Durham quite a bit since we still go to church in Durham and my youngest granddaughter goes to preschool in Durham.

    I was so sorry to hear about your situation, but want you to know that we will keep you and your family in our prayers. I gave your mother my phone numbers and asked her to call if we can help in any way. Please assure her that she can call us if we can help in anyway.
