Amy continues to do well. We are currently at the Infusion Center where she is getting another unit of platelets. Dr. Densmore stopped by and visited a little today. He continues to be pleased with Amy's progress. He said that we are probably looking at heading to Duke for an appointment with the doctors there late next week or early on in the following week. In the mean time, Amy will continue to come to the Infusion center each day and get blood work done and then get anything that she may need.

  1. Amy--so great to hear that you are feeling pretty good. I loved the picture of you--so classy!! If you want a chuckle every now and then, think about the time that I thought you all had made Mr. Davis a shirt for Spirit Day and not one for me. I was so jealous and childish :). Love from the Official Spirit Day "Cheater"--Mrs. P.
P.S. I still wear the shirt, and I still "cheat" for the seniors!!

  3. Contrary to what others say (the ODD one above...I'll have to tell you that story one day)being a redhead is not a bad thing...there are "sweet" redheads...I just don't necessarily happen to be one, as you both know well (and neither is Sherry, no matter what she says)...so go for it!!!! So happy to hear from you both, you continue to be in my constant thoughts...Love to you both,Sally

  5. Hey,
I'm so glad to see an update, but have had a time trying to post a comment. So glad to hear you are getting lots of platelets, they will be getting you ready for Duke before you know it. The sooner you go and get all this over, the better for all of us. Roscoe and Winslow were out longer today, it was so sunny and pretty.
Hope to see you soon....love you both, Grandma

Stay strong and on days when its hard to be strong, rely on all of your wonderful family & friends. God helps to make the most difficult times bearable by sending loving people to help you through.

  8. Hey Amy!! I love the new DO as well! You look good with shorter hair. I saw your mom at school yesterday. She says you and Michael are just amazing and Roberta agreed. We hope your strength continues.

Savannah says "My fairies must be working!!" (with a BIG toothless smile) She has lost all 4 of her front teeth. She is excited to know that you are doing so great.

We continue to keep you and everyone in your family in our thoughts and prayers. It seems as though they are being answered so we will keep it up. We love you all.

  9. Amy,
I have been following your journey since the beginning and feel that I now can post a note. It only took me 15 minutes to figure out how to do this. So much for my computer knowledge. It's hard sometimes for the old dogs to learn new tricks.

You have done so well for what you and Michael have been through so far. I don't get to see you much but I have been following you and MIchael since your senior year in high school. I went to all of the football games with Drew's mom Sally.
Just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers have been you and your family since day one. The many prayers are working and I will keep up my end to see you through to cure. Don't seem to do much except work and sleep. I don't even get to church but every other Sunday because of work but know that I think and pray for you and all of your family several times a day and will continue. Just know that you are so loved and I send my love to you also.

  10. I tried posting and can't. Pass this on if you would!

Hey Amy, we are all inspired by you hanging in there! I am a cancer survior as well. Was diagnosed at 20, so now over 10 years cancer free- praise God! Thought I'd tell a short hair story...
I went to VA TEch to be a cadet. They lined us all up yealling and hollering and took us to the barbershop. Those who were shouting stayed outside and we thought we had won some relief in the 'normal world'. The barber guys were so nice. The one looked at me do kind and said "I know they are being rough on ya- I'll cut you some slack... How do you like your hair cut? I told him a bit relieved how I prefered my style. Then I sat back and breathed a sigh of relief. He then proceeded to shave me balder than a baby's butt!! Watch out for those barbers and their clippers!
At least when I battled the cancer I was prepared for the loss of hair by the mad barbers of blacksburg.
    Anyway, hope you smiled.
