I can't believe how busy the last week or so has been. It has seemed like problem A goes away right as problem B pops up. However, God will never give us more than we can handle so maybe this is why I've had this little string of problems/pain and I am thankful I didn't have to deal with all the problems at one time. I finally feel like I am on the road to no pain. My mouth sores are better and my toe is better. My arm is still painful but I think it is getting there. They decided today not to put in a Hickman line but a "Hohn" line instead (It is smaller than a Hickman line and goes in near my collar bone and directly into a vein). The Hohn line is much less invasive to place and remove. Hickman lines "wind around" more inside the veins. I am extremely happy they did this as I think it will be much less painful. All went well with the placement this morning. I will get my 9th treatment today at the hospital and then we will be headed home. I was nervous about controlling the pain at home (especially if they had put in a Hickman) but I feel very comfortable now. I think we will get back to some kind of "normal" in a few days. We are continuing on with the same dose that I was on before since my Leukemia seems to be responding to it. Also the drug company has to finish up with some more patients on this dose before raising it. So it may change in a few weeks.

Thanks for all of the prayers over the last week, it was a tough one and you all helped me get through it, Amy

  3. Well, I'm not the only one who goofed and posted two comments the same day! It is so uplifting to read your blog. You always make me feel so much better, just your attitude is encouraging. I am thrilled to death about the reduction in the cancer cells and, even if it means baby steps, we are on our way to that miracle. God is good. Thanks for your witness. Love you much, Grandma

  5. dear amy,

it may just be me; but did all these not soooooo great things start happening immediately following the completion of the olympic curling events?????? could there be a correlation between duke university hospital and camilla's "not so top secret" plans of world domination??????? some do think it's rather odd that princess diana (her rival) met her demise at the hands of a muslim prince, being driven by a chaffuer drunk as a skunk on russian vodka,
in of all places.....france.....are you kidding me?????? france????? france had to change from the 911 emergency system because all the francos and francesse could not find an 11 on their phones.....
back to the conspiracy theory......canada is still considered by most europeans as a british territory and great britain did implement a system of "DUKES" and duchesses about 12,000 years ago........ not georgia techies and duchesse but "dukes".........now, if you were going to attempt to take over the world....would you not use the worlds most beloved people........ the canadians...in the worlds premier sporting event....the olympics and for the perfect trifecta.....curling as your weapon of choice......i would be very leery
if all cell phone service stops in the next couple weeks.....i gotta go store some supplies in the curling shelter....i mean emergency shelter

ps have a great week and be thankfull that adolf hitler didn't understand the power of curling or we'd all be eatin bratworst three times a day.....

    pss...i miss curling too!!!!!!!!!

psss.....after you return back to perfect health; maybe you should head up the make curling our national sport campaign.....
