One more day....
Amy's sodium level was low so the doctors are keeping her in hospital "one more day" .
She is feeling tired and a little achy, but the nausea and vomiting have not come back.
Her mouth still hurts , especially with certain foods or drinks. Foods do not taste like they are supposed to, most have a real "salty" taste.

Also, they have added a new medication (demeclocycline) and limited her fluids, to help with sodium level. The doctors wanted to make sure she did not have nausea/vomiting as a side effect before releasing her. So far no side effect has shown up. Amy does have a lot of medication to take each day. At last count , she will be taking approximately 20 pills a day. The worst side effect Amy has right now is when they have to give her magnesium. No matter how slow they run it, she gets extremely hot and flushed. Thankfully, she does not seem to have any other major side effects from anything else.

We are still astonished at the amount of support we have received. Amy reads and appreciates every card, email, or blog entry. We are comforted with all the prayers , support and love given.
You have all been a blessing to us. Thank you. Kathy

  1. It is your supporters who have been astonished the most, by the strength you have all displayed, especially Amy, through this whole ordeal, and by your graciousness. You are all a blessing to all of us.
I'm praying for you to feel better, for your sodium level to increase, and for you to be released soon.

  2. Amy,
Even though you have been in isolation from the outside world, I pray that you will feel our prayers lifting you up each day. You and your family are still at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers. I am praying for you to get back "on track" so that you can get back to living life as you want it.
Love to you and your family,
    Lisa

  3. Hope the doctor has made his rounds by now (11:30) and that you are on your way out of there. Maybe you will finally get to celebrate the 4th, and your birthday! Just hope today is the beginning of much better things. Keep your faith, this too shall pass.
    Love you loads!

  4. Aaaaammyyyy, Im baaaaack. So your sodium is low huh, eat a pretzel and get out of that dad burn hospital for a while. Go home and turn your pet pigeon loose. I was looking at your list of do's and dont's, and came to the conclusion that they all wasn't that bad. I kinda liked the idea of #4 "dont work". Always wanted a doctors note to play all the time instead of work all the time. Now you got a good excuse. No buffets really stinks though. I guess for Christmas i'll get you 52 toothbrushes and 48 bottles of sunscreen. And since you cant have a pigeon anymore i could get you a porcupine named Fozzie and everytime Michael gets out of line you can pluck a quill out and poke him in the butt. (please dont give Kelly a porcupine for Christmas). You take care, We'll talk to you soon. Love CHRIS
