Well we have another postponement. The transplant will be postoned at least one more week due to the respiratory problems I've been having. When I'm sitting I'm fine but I can't do simple things like get up and go to the bathroom without getting out of breath/coughing. So please pray that they can get this cleared up and get my body ready for the transplant. Having a good respiratory system is very important when having a bone marrow transplant. Overall, I'm feeling better (since I haven't had a fever since Sunday when they took out the central line out).
We knew set-backs would happen but it is tough to go through them. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll be back on track.

Thanks for your love and prayers, Amy

  1. Set backs are very discouraging. No one knows that better than you. Looking back at the last few months, you have displayed stamina and hope that few possess. I know you have the power to push through this one. I know we need the prayers to make sure we have all the support He can give us.
Prayers are coming your way. Take care.

  3. Amy the set back is just a little delay just like Genie said you will be up to par and ready for the transplant when the time is right. We just came in for the Senior Awards ceremony and Hollee got the MAC club scholarship (not sure of the amount yet) and $50 thru Jostens and the yearbook. Derek got 3 maybe 4 which was a surprise to him and his mom and dad so that was cool. The only one I can recall was from the PEP club. So I would say they both had a pretty good night. Right now AHS softball is #1 in the BRD just wish that they could win it. Tim said if they did he would let them shave his little pea head!!!

Please know that we love you are are praying for things to go according to schedule. Stay strong thru the minor set-backs you will get to them and on to the transplant.

Love ya bunches....Michael and Phyllis too!!

  4. Hi Amy, this is Paolo. I have been following your blog for quite a while...and I want you to know that I am with you.

You are a rich person "inside" (hopefully it makes sense in English...otherwise...I want to say that you are are person with great qualities :), therefore you enrich the persons who are close to you: you make us become better persons.

You made me become a better person.

You listened to me, you talked to me, you helped me (and you tried to understand what I was trying to tell you :) so many times...I really enjoyed being your officemate for two years, and I still miss you and the talks we had in the office.

Moreover, since you left Purdue I kept thinking that I forgot to give you the recipe for the "cannoli" ;-)

But I will send it to you soon :)

In the meaningwhile...I hope you feel better!!
    I am praying for you!
[But please don't ask me to do it in English! ;-)
Is praying in Latin allowed/valid too?
That's the language I'm using right now when I pray. And hopefully it works as well :) ]

Will got some good news yesterday the classes he wanted to take this summer at Dabney were approved. This will really make his load alot easier next year.
I'm sure you are enjoying having grandma there with you now. It will be nice to see your mom at the high school tomorrow. Hugs to everybody there.

  6. Amy, We know set-backs are tough but, we also know that you are a very strong young lady who can overcome them. God hasn't brought you this far to abandon you now. We know he answers prayers and you have so many praying for you now. Just keep that positive attitude you have going.
We are anxious to here about the donor drive tomorrow and hope you will surpass your goal of a hundred donors. If we were eligiable, we'd be there. Just a TAD to old.(LOL) Stay strong...
    Love to all,
    Patty and Tommy

  7. Another change in the plan, but still a good plan. And God's timing is perfect. We trust Him, ESPECIALLY when we don't understand. I'm amazed by your fortitude. You took that Brownie pledge of "Do My Best" to heart - and you bless my heart. (Lots of good memories of those Scouting days. :) Love you! And praying.

  8. Amy Lucy, hey there girlie, Im glad your feeling a bit better and I hope that cough gets gone soon or I might have to come down there and whoop it. I thought the bone marrow drive went well today. I was sitting there talking to Dale Muterspaugh at it today and he said " you know this just feels good", and he was exactly right. I sincerely wish that some way The Lord will work it out that my marrow will be used to save someones life through Amy's Hope. Wouldn't that be great? I know that the delay in the transplant can be frustrating. But hang in there. You are not only in the care of some of the greatest doctors in the world but you are in the hands of the Lord. You have been lifted up to Him by many prayers and His presence is upon you. In His time, He makes all things beautiful. Gonna run now. Get me a shower and get to bed. Get ole Mikey Boy to give you that good foot massage and not to tickle you too much. All My Love!!CHRIS

  9. I hope you are starting to feel better, and get all that coughing out of your system! I know it gets rough when you have set backs, but in cases like this they are almost unavoidable. The Lord knows what he is doing, and he is putting this off for a little longer for a reason. I continue to think about you and pray for you on a daily basis and will continue to do so! You have stayed strong and kept your spirits high throughout this whole ordeal so far, but it's ok to feel a little down sometimes, you just can't help it, especially when things aren't going as planned. Love & prayers to you and your family.
