So not much has happened since yesterday but I had a few successes today so I thought I would do an update. Today I ate about 2/3 of a pudding cup and a can of cream of chicken soup. This is the first time in a week I have been able to eat more than a bite or two of something. My white blood count came up to 4.0. Also, Dr. Chao's goal is to release me Monday (so pray that nothing gets off track!)

I cannot believe how smoothly this hospital stay has been - I know this is an answer to the many prayers that you all are responsible for and I can't thank you enough,
Amy

  1. All I can say is Praise the Lord! God has brought you through this phase and will be by your side all the way. You have been so brave, and there have been many blessings from all of this. There will come a time you will be able to help someone else dealing with something as serious as you have experienced, and you will again be a blessing, just like you are now.
    We all love you!

  2. Celebrating these milestones with you! God is good! Know you'll be glad to get "out", so we will be praying that everything stays on track for your release early next week. Thanks for keeping us posted. With all the orange ribbon magnets I'm seeing these days, there's a bunch of us lifting you up in prayer. Love you!

  3. God continually amazes me with his grace and mercy, and you have been his vessel this time. You have displayed a faith and positive spirit throughout this journey, Amy. I am afraid that I might have fallen short in my attempt of the same.
LOL I just reread what I had written, and I guess fallen "short" could have been a joke :)
    We love you, Girlie.

  5. Amy Lucy, Kelly and I are seriously filled with joy and excitement to hear how you are doing. Pretty soon instead of pudding and chicken soup you will be knawing (is that a word) on ham bones and turkey legs. (just like them old pictures of cavemen). We are getting ready to go see the Red Sox on Tuesday. Maybe Busch Grdens a few days too this week. Big Papi is swinging a mean stick the last 4 games too. He better keep it up in Baltimor because I dont want to have to come over the rail after him. Gotta go get ready for Church. Im really thankful for your smooth stay in Duke Univirsity hospital. They have taken great care of you. But they are the vessels God has used to get you here. Gods grace is soooo gooood. I cannot thank him enough. I certainly take no credit from the doctors, they are the best. But Ive senced Gods presence many time since January, and I know He is there with you and all of us. And I know he has brought you to the point you are at today. And I praise Him for being so good. Love CHRIS

  6. Good luck and God bless. Keep yourself safe and follow ALL those restrictions. No sense getting this far and blowing it because you feel better.

  7. You are one amazing young woman! So sorry about your bathroom fall...luckily you are not an old woman with weak bones and no coordination(like me). Thinking of you 24/7. Love to all of you--Anita

  8. Amy,
WELCOME BACK TO THE APARTMENT! THAT IS HOME FOR NOW! I KNOW YOU FEEL LIKE A BIRD OUT OF A CAGE, AND MAY BE A LITTLE NERVOUS. JUST ENJOY BEING THERE AND GET PLENTY OF CALORIES INTO YOUR BODY.
I AM SURE CHECKING IN AT THE CLINIC DAILY WILL KEEP EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL. SO HAPPY YOU ARE THIS FAR.
    LOVE YOU!
