Amy has been rather tired all day today. This is probably a combination of the chemo itself, the fact that she has had a little bit of nausea and the medicine they give her for it makes her sleepy, and finally she doesn't have much of an appetite so she has had very little to eat.

Amy got a special visitor today named Gus. Gus is a golden retriever and he is part of the pet therapy program. Gus came in and got up on Amy's bed and when it was time for him to leave they had to pull him off of the bed.

The ninth of twelve bags of chemo was started just a couple of minutes ago, so the end of this treatment is in sight.

  3. Well, did Gus make you homesick for your boys? I would like to have seen him up on your bed. He knew you liked dogs. Your babies were good today, went in and outside as they wished because it was warm enough to leave the door open a little. I wish you could have been there and seen them chase each other in and slide on the floor, they were going so fast. They're a trip! I hope tomorrow will be a better day for you, only 3 bags to go, yippee! Love you lots, Grandma

  6. Soft, warm, relentless doggie-love can renew your spirit. I am very impressed that Duke has such a great program and has given you such an early visit with this wonderful dog. Pets are a welcomed medicine.
I hope you are having peaceful dreams in your recouperating sleeps.

  7. God's body is outstanding. The sleep is to direct all the body can do to the treatment of itself...Sleep and gain your strength. Your primary job now is to heal. We are all at the Suncoast Church in Florida praying for you and your family. You have so many people praying for you.
