Hi everyone, I really shouldn't be so remiss about posting. I think I've only posted 2 or 3 entries during the last two or three weeks.

First - Thanks to everyone for all the Birthday well wishes. Aunt Mary Beth and Uncle Mayfield flew in to see us for the weekend and Chris and Kelly came down for a day or two as well. I also had a nice surprise when I got home from clinic on Sunday. Some of our high school friends had come by to see us (Matt, Rachel, Anne, Travis, and Bubbie- thanks so much for coming). It was great to catch up but makes me feel so old!

I've received tons of cards and some awesome presents. Michael decided that if I couldn't make a trip to New York he would "bring New York to me." He worked it out so that 2 or 3 packages a day arrived for 2 or 3 days (I don't know if this was so much planned or how timing worked out due to last minute shopping). Anyway, I got bagels from a bagel shop in Brooklyn, a NY cheesecake, two framed black and white photographs of the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Station , several DVDs of Broadway shows, and some other things. He did pretty good!

My legs are still very "colorful" and swollen. I am getting better at using the walker/wheelchair but It would be nice to just get up and walk. They did a "punch" biopsy and a "fine needle" biopsy of the spots of my legs but we do not have any results for those, other than the fact that this is NOT Leukemia in the skin. So hopefully we will find out more about that soon. I have been having to go to the clinic everyday because I continue to need platelets everyday.

Other than having difficulty getting around, I really do feel good. I stay tired a lot but that is always a part of the big picture. Thanks so much for the Birthday wishes, praryers, etc., Amy

  1. Hey Amy,
Lost my post again! So glad your birthday lasted more than just one day, and that those true friends made a trip down just to see you. How cool is that! Michael is the only one who knows you well enough to get things that really make you happy; he knows how much you love NY and to bring it to you was totally awesome. I am glad the walker makes it easier on you, just hope you will soon not need it. Praying for you every thought. Love you so much, Grandma

  3. Amy,
I read your card to the Low Moor congregation this past Sunday, and they were truly moved by your heart-felt words. Thanks for that, from them and me!
God's continued blessings upon you, and happy belated birthday -- you deserve every wonderful thing!

  4. I tried two or three time to post last week but always "lost" them. So I'll try again. What a wonderful birthday surprise from Michael! He certainly is creative and thoughtful. Glad you've had such good visits with friends and family, too. We had field day at Sharon School today. Only two more student days left. Officially summertime! Know that we pray for you every day. We love you.

  5. Amy,
Sounds like you had a busy but GREAT Birthday weekend with family and friends. Glad you continue to feel well despite the leg pain, YOU are amazing!!!! We are staying busy with now 3 little ones but SOOOOO much fun. Maddi and Carson always have to give Alli her quota of kisses first thing in the morning. Sometimes she doesn't mind and sometimes she does :) but Maddi just tells her "just get use to it" They are soooo funny. We love you and hope you have a great rest of the week. Love and Prayers... Keith, Kate, Maddi, Carson and Alli.

  7. Okay, I'll try posting again. I think my posts are like me during the last days of school... totally lost :) One more "short" day! Then many days of spoiling those grandbabies. Can you tell I am excited? Please tell Michael that I am so impressed, and that my birthday is in September.

Our prayers continue for you daily... many times giving praise that I am even acquainted with such a warrior as you.
Sending love, prayers, and BIG hugs to my favorite Pretty Lady!
