Wow - I did not realize it had been so long since I posted a message. Sunday through Wednesday were good days; I felt like I was improving everyday. Thursday and Friday weren't so great. The coughing just pretty much took up my day which makes me achy and just feel yucky. I feel like I have three problems: mouth sores, throat irritation, and coughing/mucous. They tend to rotate as to which is worse at the moment. Right now the mouth sores are the worst, I've even felt a couple new ones pop up over the last couple of days. My appetite is dwindling so we're also having to watch my weight to make sure I don't lose too much weight.

They took me off of the Hydrea. The way I understand it is that the Hydrea works to cut down the number of white cells in the blood. Revlimid, on the other hand, tries to get the bone marrow to make good cells. So hopefully once the Revlimid gets in my system, it will help create some good white cells and clear up my mouth/throat. I had low grade fevers the first few days I was on Revlimid but those have gone away and they say this is not uncommon.

Hope you all have a good week,

  1. so good to hear from you! sorry about all the issues, hope they clear up soon. praying for the Revlimid to improve things all around. hope

  2. Hey, So hoping the Revlimid will do the job of producing more good white cells, and soon. I'm so thankful for your determination, you are not a quiter, but a real fighter. You continue to amaze me, and I am so proud of you. Robbie and I talked about you and Michael today and how amazing you both are, as well as your mom and dad. You are all definitely loved.

  3. Hi Amy-Go Revlimid!! We will all pray for that to get in you and do its job-I know you are ready for these problems to improve-Grandma is right about the strength and courage you all show every day

  4. dear amy
you'll never know how relieved i am knowing you think you only have three; count em threeeeeeee problems.....considering you have a.....lets say quirky(that's a nice descriptive adjective) relative in your life......but we won't talk about blair "lil wahoo" putnam at this time....who did you think i was talking about????????????????????????????????????
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if our family was peanut brittle..........the planned one would be the caramel and the rest of yall would be the nuts.......held together with love and that really sticky stuff the colonel didn't choose as one of his secret herbs and spices.....either way; we all hope you respond positively to your new meds and the sooner the always
try to figure that one out???????

  5. They keep bouncing you from one drug to another. That doesn't seem like time enough for your body to adjust but you don't let it get you down. The Revlimid does sound like what you needed all along. Keep the faith and your positive attitude with it. I'll continue to pray for you and your family.

  6. We've been out of town for a few days without the internet and I'm glad to read you've been having some good days. It has to help balance out the not-so-good days. We'll be praying for lots of new healthy white cells to take over and for your mouth sores to disappear. Know that you are loved and always in our thoughts and prayers. Brenda
